Low-Carbon Strategy Driving a Circular Economy Benchmark

Yuwang Eco was the first to introduce the concept of circular economy as early as 1999, relying on the entire industry chain of soybean deep processing to create a closed-loop system of“resources → products → renewable resources.” Using independently developed low-temperature desolvation technology, the waste generated during soybean processing, such as soybean whey and okara are converted into high-value products, exemplifying a “zero-waste” circular economy model. The company has been awarded the title of "Shandong Province Circular Economy Demonstration Unit". In terms of energy structure optimization, the company operates distributed photovoltaic power projects with integrated energy storage systems to enhance energy stability. Biogas power generation systems convert organic matter in soybean processing wastewater into electricity for reuse. Through a national-level Industrial-Information Integration project, a digital platform for the soybean industry has been established, enabling full-factor digital management of production and reducing energy consumption per unit of output below the industry average.

Yuwang Eco has established a non-GMO soybean planting base in Northeast China, adopting a full traceability model of "breeding-planting-processing-sales". Through IP non-GMO certification and a seven level food safety control system, it ensures full control from the field to the dining table. The base planting combines Beidou navigation sowing and intelligent plant protection equipment, reducing the use of chemical fertilizers per acre, while achieving income increase per acre through straw to feed technology, reducing carbon emissions from straw burning.

The constructed 20,000-ton plant-based meat project adopts advanced processes such as twin-screw textured protein, reducing energy consumption by 30% in the production process, and the product’s carbon emissions are only 1/10 of traditional meat products. It innovates dry waste heat reuse technology, recovering waste heat from the protein drying process through heat exchangers for reuse. As one of the first national green factories, Yuwang Ecology has passed the ISO14001 environmental management system certification and established a clean production plan covering the entire production process. Its independently developed soybean protein processing equipment has broken international monopolies, promoting the localization rate of industry equipment from less than 10% in 2000 to more than 90%, greatly reducing carbon emissions in the equipment manufacturing link.

With plant protein replacing animal protein as its core strategy, Yuwang Ecology produces 120,000 tons of soybean protein annually, which is equivalent to reducing 6.17 million mu of cultivated land occupation and cutting carbon dioxide emissions by 1.219 million tons annually (an amount that would require 500,000 mu of broad-leaved forest to absorb in one year). The plant-based meat series products put into production in 2023 provide consumers with low-carbon choices by simulating the taste and nutrition of animal meat.

Yuwang Ecology actively benchmarks international standards and has obtained 12 authoritative certifications, including FDA exemption certification and BRC global food safety certification, to build a quality control system from raw materials to terminals. As the chairman unit of the National Soybean Deep Processing Industry Science and Technology Innovation Alliance, we have taken the lead in formulating 7 industry standards, including "Plant based Meat Products", to promote the low-carbon development of the industry. In terms of fulfilling social responsibilities, Yuwang Ecology provides a minimum income guarantee for soybean farmers through the "futures+insurance" model. At the same time, it converts soybean processing by-products into green products such as edible packaging boxes and desert water retaining agents, and explores the social application of industrial waste.In the future, Yuwang Ecology will continue to deepen its "dual carbon" strategy, strive to become a low-carbon benchmark in the global plant protein field through technological innovation and model iteration, and contribute to the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals and China’s green agricultural transformation.
